Hate The Playa, Hate The Game..
Salaamu Alaikum my sisters in the blogosphere, I 've been meaning to getting this post out. Anyways so here's my story. It was a weekday morning and I had to take my son to the pediatrician. I was already running behind, couldn't find my keys frantically searching so I could close the door. Alhamdulilah, found em' and I was out. I don't normally take the bus, but I had no other choice this time and waited at the corner of my street. I was searching in my bag for my token so I wouldn't be slow getting onto the bus with a stroller and all. By this time, everything is fine and I'm waiting minding my own business thinking about life. Then this white van pulls up to the bus stop and with his window rolled down he decides to say "Hey..Psst". Now I'm actually shocked out of my mind because he was sooo bold. I have a child, looking like somebodies mom. I'm wearing an abaya and covered properly. I'm thinking in my head " What is this dude's problem? What in the hell is he thinking approaching me?"
I didn't answer the guy, my reaction is clear. My face changes and I look disgusted. Hoping he will just go away he waits and looks at me. I can feel his eyes looking me over & over. I want to wipe the grin off of his face. I turn around giving my back to this idiot. I'm starting to feel really gross. I guess to this guy, who clearly isn't muslim it didn't matter. What a creeper, he watched me for about 5 minutes. He could have gone and made his right turn and be on his way, but no. He missed the light just for me..ewww
All I know is, it was clear it didn't matter to this guy if I had a kid, or could have been married. ( which we know I am) Some men are sooo sick out there it really doesn't matter. They really think they have game.? Muslim or non-muslim. Now back in my jahiliyyah, I was always sick and tired of men bothering me. Trying to holla at me. Making fools out of themselves just so they try a one liner or what have you. I've heard it ALL. I used to get embarrassed especially when I was with my Dad or my Mom. It's totally ajeeb dude, and SO wrong :$ These men didn't have enough respect to leave me alone when I'm with my family.
To all my non-muslim men and in some cases muslim brother's that don't know proper ettiquette, listen well. What a muslimah really thinks is hot is the respect you give her. So LOWER YOUR GAZE. Don't try and holla at me "playa, playa". I'm a believing woman going about her day. I could be:1. Somebodies wife, 2. Somebodies mother, 3. Somebodies sister, 4. And I'm for sure somebodies daughter. If that doesn't make you think twice I don't know what will. Would you want your mother or sister to be treated this way, haha didn't think so.
In the words of my grandmother "Man is Man." So I keep it real, being modest is hottest.

It screams buy me, but do you need it?
I'm talking about getting caught up. It's something women are good at when it comes to shopping. We see something and we stare at it, it stares back at you. (clothes, handbags, jewelery, shoes what have you.) " OMG, it's so cute." The more you touch it and hold onto it, the deeper we sink into convincing ourselves that we might actually buy it. That "This was made just for me!" This might actually be an impulse buy. Take a second, matter a fact take two my friend. Get out of the store, and walk it off. Mull it over and think about what your doing, bc if you really don't need it, what the dickens are you doing? Subhanallah, we are muslims and we should always strive to be modest, as much as we can. Buy what you need, not what you want. This is a recession, be a recessionista! Save your pennies for rainy days. Do not spend excessively on wordly things, bc when you die, you can't take it with you! Resist the whispers from the shaytaan, how we spend our money as muslims matter, we will be asked about it. Spend money in the sake of Allah and you'll never go wrong. May Allah make it easy for us all, ameen.

Assalamu Alaikum, I have spent the last little while thinking about Hajj. InshaAllah, I will make it one day. I just have this strong desire to try and fulfill it sooner than later. As you already know I'm preparing to leave for Medina inshaAllah, so the reality can be coming sooner than later. I just wonder how it feels to be there. I crave this feeling of contentment and peace, that I know I have never felt or known before. It's hard to describe, it's not just the feeling you get from being a practicing muslim, it's deeper than that. There's just so much to take in. And hearing stories of relatives and friends who've been able to, SubhanAllah it does something to my heart. As for now I just have to remain patient bc Allah is the best of ALL planners, so it's better to not rock the boat!

Blue me away..
Assalamu Alaikum, I just love this lil darling outfit! I think the colour combo is flattering on any skin tone mashaAllah. Do wear this look with a smoked eye & and for a "pop" on the lips go for the red. Def. a sizzling combo if you do the right red. Anyone can wear red lipstick, inshaAllah you just have to pick the right one hehe. Walla, I would wear this outfit to an all girl function. Or a nite out with the hubby. Btwn you and me, I would wear this at home if I just felt like dressing up hehe.

Sugarplum is back!!!
It's been ages since I've blogged. I've had a long break and are ready to make a comeback, and start blogging more often. I've been a busy body trying to prepare to leave for saudi inshallah. I've been throwing out many things, such as clothing I don't need anymore/ things I would consider donateable. I figure, that I'm not going to be one of those sisters that pack the kitchen sink if you know what I mean. I told my husband, I'm going to buy more clothes anyways. Besides less is more, keep classic pieces in your wardrobe and throw out stuff you don't wear! I think everyone should follow the one year rule. If you're not wearing it within that year, you don't need it. It's no longer yours. So say goodbye.
